Westlake Wedding DJ at Westlake Village Inn

So Evette Knight – www.evetteknight.com booked us on this Westlake Wedding DJ job at the always beautiful Westlake Village Inn this year for Jason & Stacy just after seeing us at another event (A Bat Mitzvah). As you can see by some of the photo’s from Next Exit Photography  http://www.nextexitblog.com , it turned out amazing.

I handled all the DJ duties but Tasty Sounds was also contracted to handle all the decorative lighting, which included about 20 LED up lights around the room, that changed colors to go with the vibe of the evening. We also highlighted the cake and down lit the dance floor with a simple spring tree pattern, to give some depth and energy to the pictures and the dance floor, (not easy in this multi-level room). And lastly we created a custom lighted Logo (gobo) to match the runner and the cake topper. This was a fun wedding mainly due to working with Evette, if you need a wedding coordinator that will work with you, create unique ideas and take care of you, Evette and her staff are the perfect choice.

Wedding Coordinators fall in to a few categories, professional assistants, control freaks, clueless amateur’s. Picking the right one is such a huge part of a great party, especially in 2025. Clueless is easy to avoid, but they are trying, and of course you want the professional assistant who is the perfect choice, but the middle choice can be a part of all 3 choices. The problem with a vendor that has control issues is that they aren’t trying to make the party great, they are trying to be always right. I recently talked with a Coordinator, and I asked her what was the reason she became a coordinator and she told me, “I like telling people what to do”, not the best answer. I’ve worked with Evette on several events, and one of her first questions is “What would you do”, and then she takes the info and makes a decision based on everyone’s benefit. Yes, their are things that may not go your way, but if your are heard and you feel listened too and your speaking from the point of the party and not your ego, this is what you want to hear.
